Alabama Hunting Seasons, 2023-2024

Alabama offers a variety of game for hunters including alligator, deer, turkey and quail. Alabama hunting seasons not only differ around the state, but individual counties may have their own season start and end dates, as well as bag limits. Alabama allows hunting permits and licenses to be registered for and purchased online. Additionally, hunters can easily report their harvests online, over the phone or through a smartphone app.

Alabama Alligator Seasons

**Season dates vary by zone. Registration for the 2024 alligator hunting season opens on June 4, 2024.

Alligator hunts are special permit only. Registration for an alligator permit can be completed online, and only Alabama residents are able to receive a permit. Dates vary greatly by region. All hunting is nighttime (sunset to sunrise) online except for Lake Eufaula, which allows daytime and nighttime.
